Dear Central Piedmont Early College Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! As the principal of Central Piedmont Early College, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students, parents, and staff. I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer break and are ready to embark on another exciting and productive school year.
Our mission at Central Piedmont Early College is to provide a rigorous academic environment of discovery, reflection and excellence that leads to college and career readiness for every student. We are proud of our unique program that allows students to earn both their high school diploma and college credits simultaneously, setting them on a path to higher education and career readiness.
As we begin this new school year, I want to highlight a few important updates and reminders:
-
First Day of School: The first day of school for students is Thursday, August 8, 2024. Please ensure that your child arrives on time and is ready to learn.
-
Back to School Open House: We will be hosting a back-to-school open house for all students and families on Monday, August 05, 2024, at 4:00pm. This will be an opportunity to meet teachers, tour the campus, and learn about the expectations and opportunities at Central Piedmont Early College.
-
School Supplies and Dress Code: A list of required school supplies and dress code guidelines is available on our website and in the back-to-school mailing. Please review these lists and ensure your child is prepared for the first day of school.
-
Parent-Teacher & Student Organization (PTSO): We encourage all parents to join our PTSO and become actively involved in our school community. The first PTSO meeting will be held on August 13th at 6:00pm in person on the CPEC campus.
-
Communication: We believe that open and effective communication between school and home is vital for student success. Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date in PowerSchool and check our school website and weekly family newsletters for important announcements and updates.
-
Safety and Wellness: The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. We will continue to follow all health and safety guidelines as recommended by local health authorities. Additionally, our counseling team is available to support students with any social-emotional needs.
We are excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it will bring for our students to grow academically, socially, and personally. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing a high-quality education and a positive school experience for every student.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will make this school year a success and ensure that each student moves forward in their unique post-secondary planning process. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Wishing you all a wonderful and successful school year!
Warm regards,
Erik M. Turner
