What is the Comprehensive Data Review?

Every four years, the Board shall conduct a comprehensive district-wide review of data related to its Student Assignment Goals as outlined in Part One of this policy. If the Board determines that changes are necessary, it will set priorities and direct the superintendent to recommend updates to the Student Assignment Plan. Additionally, the Board may review data more frequently to assess if localized adjustments to school assignment areas are warranted.

Provide choice and promote equitable access to varied and viable programmatic options for all children

Maximize efficiency in the use of school facilities, transportation, and other capital and operational resources to reduce overcrowding

Reduce the number of schools with high concentrations of poor and high-needs children

Provide school assignment options to students assigned to schools that are not meeting performance standards established by the State

Preserve and expand schools and programs in which students are successfully achieving the mission and vision of the Board

Long-term planning efforts should prioritize resource allocation and facility improvements to sustainably meet the educational needs of a growing and diverse student body.

Student Assignment and School Choice will ensure that all families receive clear communication regarding entry requirements. The School Choice team will refine these requirements to align with program goals and maximize student benefits. Additionally, First Ward Creative Arts Middle School will provide door-to-door service, as coordinated by operations.
